Sea Power’s Do You Like Rock Music? reissued to celebrate 15th anniversary

Rough Trade Records are reissuing Sea Power’s Mercury Prize nominated Do You Like Rock Music? album on 9 February.

Pre-order now

The album will be expanded for this 15th anniversary edition and will include radio sessions, b-sides and extensive new sleeve notes.

Do You Like Rock Music? will be available on CD, limited-edition double LP and digital formats.

The LP comes in gatefold glow in the dark sleeve with orange vinyl and a picture disc, plus extensive new sleeve notes written by the author and journalist Roy Wilkinson.

Listen to the Steve Lamacq BBC 1 Radio Session version of No Lucifer now, which will feature among the bonus material on the new edition. The band also delivered a memorable performance of the song on Later With Jools Holland in 2008 which you can watch below.

A kaleidoscopic record, Sea Power’s third album truly encapsulates the band’s heart.  Taking in meteorological disaster (Canvey Island), celestial pollution (Lights Out For Darker Skies), a rousing and intricate anthem to European unity (Waving Flags) and a moving instrumental named after a piratical sea bird, The Great Skua which went on to soundtrack several conservation films.

Single No Lucifer perhaps best illustrates the dynamic scope of Do You Like Rock Music? being a composition that places Big Daddy’s TV wresting chant (“easy, easy”) along side Biblical notions of impending Armageddon.
