Warpaint return with new single Common Blue 🦋

🦋 Warpaint are back with new single Common Blue, which will be released on 22 March.
Backed by b-side Underneath, both tracks will be available on a 7-inch single which can be pre-ordered in advance, while Common Blue is available to stream now.
The video for the title track was released on 14 February 2024, exactly 20 years to the day that Warpaint first formed in a small studio on Fairfax Boulevard in Los Angeles.
“It started with the chord progression on guitar,” explains Warpaint’s Theresa Wayman of Common Blue’s creative chrysalis.
“Jen [Lee Lindberg] and I jammed it in her living room in Echo Park and it became a song. We sent it around the houses, well to Stella [Mozgawa] and Emily’s [Kokal] houses, and all its elements were brought to life. It’s intended to inspire freedom. ‘Rising up again and again, climb a ladder to the sky, catch the view like a butterfly!’ Everything is possible… It ain’t over till it’s over!”
Warpaint’s first new material in two years, the single finds the band returning to Rough Trade Records, the label behind their debut album and the group’s creative home for most of their existence.
“It makes us smile to release them in collaboration with friends and family at Rough Trade,” declare Warpaint.
“It feels like a perfect return to where it all began! With these new songs we tie a bow around this time in our lives, and all the experiences and songs we’ve shared over the years. It’s been an incredible journey and taken us all over the world sharing good times with beautiful people. Our hearts are full!”
Following the release of Common Blue, Warpaint will head out on a spring tour of America’s West Coast.
